03 seadoo xp di problems

I just picked up a 03 seadoo xp di. I pumped the old fuel out and put new 93 Oct in it. I also changed the plugs. The ski starts right up but it's also like it's missing. When on the water it's like its falling on its face and cutting out. The maintenance light is on now. They guy I got it from told me it needed a computer. How do I confirm that? The ski has 115 hours on it and compression is good. Any help please? I'm very new to the di skies but have a ton of carbed seadoos.....

If it’s running and just falling on its face it probably does not need a computer. Start here.

1) compression test post the numbers. Throttle wide open other plug out.
2) fuel pressure test while key is in engine off. Fuel pressure test while engine is running
3) measure voltage at the batter while idling and at about 4000 rpm.

Post back all results
 
On a DI ski that is flashing a maintenance light you will need a scanner like the Candoo to read the trouble code. Typically low compression and fuel pressure will not trigger this.

Did you find anything out? I am in the process of getting a candoo but for now .Mines an 2000....seems to de doing the same thing,i just get it and had it out 3times low oil came on...so i went to Walmart and got marine synthetic two-stroke oil , and also put 100% gas in with no Ethinyl...but now see that the oil is non seadoo approved....so I drained the oil tank

Take I think I need a computer, don't run that oil. U also need to only run 93oct in it

You are going to have to change the oil filter and bleed and flush the tank before you put the correct oil in.
 
1. While waiting for your candoo pro, start the ski on the trailer with a volt meter hooked to the battery and rev to 4000rpms. Read the voltage.
Anything less than 13.5vdc the rectifier is bad
Anything more that 14.5vdc the rectifier is bad
Before starting the engine on the trailer read the voltage anything under 11vdc and it is new battery time.

2. Can’t tell you how many DI skis I have bought over several years for 400 bucks that have a blown cylinder and blue looking crappy oil in the tank...just sayin.
Sea Doo XPS full synthetic oil is not that expensive online.
 
Thank you to everyone for all the help...i have a new oil filter that came in today,i will be replacing on my day off soon.what about the bleeding? I know i have to clean out the line going from the filter to the engine but what about the oil in the oil pump?what is the best way to get the oil and the air out im assuming and do i need to also clean the R.a.v.e Valves? I started it up today for a second on the trailer ,but the Maintenance required code started flashing so I shut it off

So I put a good computer in the ski et tonight and the ski starts but still has the maintenance light flashing so I'm guessing I dont have a computer problem....I did order the candoo but I'm just waiting now...
 
Well ski not running I have 12.6 volts. Ski running at idle 13.3v . Ski at 4000 ramps hard to hold it there with it cutting out it has 13.53v
 
I got the candoo. 1st I'm not 100% how to work it . How do I reset the maintenance light? It's still flashing but dont see where the candoo checks that part.....

So looks like the p0335 is the active code. I'm thinking the pick up has some shavings on it but I need to pop the cover to see what's up...
