02 Rx Di Bogging Out and Dying?

Hi there,
Hoping someone out there can help me. Last summer my brother took my 2002 rx di on the lake a few times while I was out of state. He called me saying that it kept dying on him in the middle of the lake... He thought it might have been lack of using the same oil... so he drained the tank and I replaced it with seadoo xps oil to be safe. After replacing the battery and spark plugs and filling the take with premium, I took it out yesterday. It started right up but idled very, very rough. Mid throttle seadoo kept bogging out and 5 min in to riding, it died in the middle of the lake. It would start back up and idle for 3-7 secs then die again. During the idle if i pressed on the gas it would go a couple feet, bog out and die. I FINALLY got it going and raced back to the dock.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

It could be a fuel issue, but first check the compression to make sure there is no engine damage.

*****edit***** this is a DI ski, sorry I am of no help on these.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Any luck yet? I replaced the rectifier like my friends told me and that wasn't the problem

I replaced the fuel filter on the bottom of the fuel pump and cleaned out the other fuel filter that is inside of the fuel pump. Also noticed that my oil check valve was broke off. I replaced that as well. Took it out yesterday for a test run and it started right up but noticed that each time I inserted the key the MAINT and red light blinked 10 times. And for the first 15 minutes the ski wouldn't hit full speed even when the throttle was all the way down. Turned out throttle was just stuck. After that it ran GREAT!
I played around for about 40 minutes and it never shut off or bogged out. Just as I was pulling into the 5mph zone, ski just shut off...didn't bog out or anything. I tried starting it for several minutes but it wouldn't turn over. Had to swim it back. After removing the key and re inserting it about 5-7 times, the ski started up. Figured I would try it again. Ski died at the 5mph zone again. Removed and re inserted key and the ski started for about 15 seconds then died. Swam it back.
Very confused on how the ski could run great for almost an hour then just stop.
Any advice?
Thanks

Sounds like what happened with my brother in laws XPDI. You need to check fuel pressure. Could be fuel pump going bad. His would run on and off , MAINT warning (prob low pressure) too, then one day just died. New OEM (watch out for the "Highflow") pump fixed it.

BTW: "LOW VOLTAGE" warning would probably be rect/regulator.

I was thinking it might be the fuel pump :/ Could it be maybe that the fuel lines shrunk? and where can I check the fuel pressure? because I cant find a slater valve on the high pressure fuel line.

my millenium edition has very bad idle and actaully wont idle so i always give it a little gas to keep it going. after riding it it never dies but after i shut it off i have to play with the throttle to get it going again. i was thinking maybe the air filter by what the owners manual said. but my maint light also flashes but it still runs with no problem. these skis seem to be a money pit i think its time for a boat hahaha. let me know what you guys figure out

To check fuel pressure on the DI you need to hook a T with 3 lengths of hose with a male and female quick connect fittings (which fit to your fuel lines) and a gauge on the third leg of the T. Pressure should go to 27 psi. when you attach key and shoot up to 107 psi when started and revved.

I'm convinced my fuel pump is working fine. My pressure is good. I ended up buying a new rectifier/regulator on Ebay after reading up about my problem. Took it to the lake yesterday and it started up great. Voltage read mid 12's idling. When revved volts would go upper 12 low 13 and go back down. I played around for about 5 min. Ski ran great and went full speed, no bogging. Figured id check volts before I took it out again. Idling, ski read lower 12's. Revved it up and it got to 12.43 and died! Just when I though I had it :( Started it back up and would stay on for split second and die again. Volts wouldn't go any higher than 12.43. Read up more online that there could be metal pieces in the stator that's messing with the magneto? That's my next project...
I failed to mention that my MODE and SET buttons do not work. Therefore I cannot reset. Above I stated that when I put the key in I get 2 quick beeps and my MAINT light flashes 10 times when running and 30 times not running. Could it be there is something wrong or it just needs to be reset? My buddy told me when the MAINT flashes ski will run for about 30 min just so you can get back to dock.
