Battery Charging on a 97 GS

I was wondering if anyone uses a quick connect type adapter to disconnect their battery and connect it to a charger? If not, is is safe to connect the charger to the battery with the leads to the ski still connected? Thanks! Dave

Lou, Do you power the GPS off the battery of the ski or just the internal battery? Any issues seeing the display in the sunlight?

Fuels lines replaced, but did I use the right size line?

I just replaced all the lines in my 97 GS with 1/4". I thought I read on one post that would be ok. I took it out after replacing and it seemed to run fine. Should I take out the 1/4" and replace it or do you think I am ok? Has anyone else used all 1/4" on theirs? If so did you see any issues?

    97 GS won't start.

Turns out my battery, even though showed good voltages, was low and needed to be charged. As soon as it was charged up, it started right up.. Thanks to everyone for all there support!

    1997 GS fuel problem

I have replaced all the grey fuel lines. I did NOT however, replace the grey vent lines from the baffle. I have done what you have suggested and I am able to pull fuel from the tank to the feed hose. I will investigate the carb nest, thanks for the help!

    1997 GS fuel problem

One test I just did to verify it isn't the fuel tank was I pulled the line on the filter under the hood that goes to the carb, put a short hose on it and was able to draw fuel from the tank in to the filter reservoir, both with the switch to "on" and "res". So at this point I know everything is...

    1997 GS fuel problem

Any one know how to check the pulse line on a 1997 GS? Also, are their supposed to be vacuum lines on my carb? I have 3 fuel lines (single carb) and someone is telling me I should have a vacuum line, and that is why it isn't sucking fuel in the lines.. Thoughts?

    1997 GS fuel problem

I checked the selector valve. I used an air compressor and blew it out. There was nothing in it, both "on" and "res" were clean. I replaced all fuel lines carefully one at a time. I can try vaseline, I have been careful not to cross thread it too.

    97 GS won't start.

I am getting spark. What would cause it to just turn over once? Battery levels are good, even under load. Any thoughts?

    97 GS won't start.

I just check the voltage on startup, it was 12.15 before I tried to start it then it fell to 10.79 once i pressed the start button. Right now it is only turning over 1 time. It makes a loud clanking sound. It did this yesterday and I let it sit overnight and this morning it turned over...

    97 GS won't start.

It turns over fairly slow I would say. I will put a meter on it and try to start it and let you know. I hate to sound dumb, but how do I check for spark? and I assume I remove the spark plug, shoot starter fluid in it then replace the plug and try to start? I am new to this so I want to be...

Grey Fuel Lines - Fuel Filter

Thanks for the help. I tried reserve as well.. Since that didn't work either, does that tell me the line from the selector is clogged or the switch is bad?

Grey Fuel Lines - Fuel Filter

I am having trouble starting my 97 GS. When it cranks over, it doesn't start. I replaced the plugs and still nothing. I suspect the grey fuel lines have clogged up the fuel system. I was checking the fuel filter that is located in front under/behind the storage box. I took it off, cleaned...
