you tried it with a another hf compression tester? i would try it with a good quality compression tester and see what it is. very possible u got 2 bad compression testers from hf. two tools that you should never cheap out on is a compression tester and a torque wrench.

i love my primer no matter how long it sits i know it will start right. even with a weak battery within one or two rotations of the motor it starts right up. also if u have a run away the easiest way to kill it is to put your hand over the exhaust hole.

i just go to my seadoo dealer and order them. 90% of those rebuild kits are not oem

rebuild the xp or look at the spark. no other 4 stroke will give him the ride he is looking for.

if you wanna keep the boat and are willing to put some time and money into it then i would start with a new motor and rebuilding your fuel system. 155 and 135 is a big difference in compression, most likely one of the carbs got plugged up with gunk from the gray fuel lines and started running lean

even with the rectifier removed it should rev up fine. like i said before do another compression test. if the motor is no good u can try tuning it all u want but it still wont run right.

i used all oem parts in mine wasnt too much more and ik the parts are good quality

Before putting anymore money into it get a updated compression test. if u get 150 and 125 again its time for a motor. if u didn't already replace fuel lines and clean the carb filters start with that. also if you do a search u will find that the only recommended starter is oem anything besides...

yes you will need a new head. yes you will need to replace the rotary valve gear and no its not that common looks like a bolt or something went down the intake. I would not be using that crank if you are spending this much money on it u might as well do it right, most times old cranks cant...

i own a 96 xp and my beat friend and ridding buddy has a 05 rxp. rxp will be a bit faster, more stable and will cut threw chop better, but i still think the 96 xp is a lot more fun. rxp is a great ski for riding 2 people on, still small enough to throw around but very stable. you might be better...

i think a 5k turbo would just be too much for this ski. however if some one would rework the intake/exhaust to get the power and top speed up to a x4 for cheap i think it would sell like hot cakes.
