Seadoo hasn't been fired up for 25 years

Jay, I just looked at this thread again, & noticed your Post #14.
Did you hook up the hose, & turn it on, without the motor running?
Perhaps yours is different, but my factory service manual, (1995 SPI 587 engine), is quite adamant about how to run it while not in the water.
Start Engine...then Turn Water On
Turn Water Off... then Stop Engine.
You can run it for only a few minutes on the hose as the driveline doesn’t get any cooling water.

Yes I did run the water first then start it ,ill to download the manual and take a look ,I just have to figure out how to prime the lines now and hopefully start it up again today
 
To prime the fuel system remove the return line from the carb and hold your finger over the hose. Now blow air into the fuel tank check valve to put some pressure in the fuel tank. Once you see fuel come out of the return fitting on the carb quickly put the return line back on and secure it. Now the entire fuel system and carbs are primed with fuel.

If you flooded the engine with water you better get it running asap or it will be rusted junk.
