I have a 1999 GTX Limited with the 951 engine. Unfortunately, I have a crack on both sides of the center threaded hole for the head. Will the white cylinder from a 1998 951 GSX work in place of the silver cylinder in my GTX? I have read that complete engine swaps are possible with some attention to the jetting, electronics and flywheel etc, but couldn't find any straight up 2Screenshot_20170522-121039.jpg
info if the white and silver cylinders were interchangeable between the 1998 GSX and the 1999 GTX.

So the "white" engine was actually only a 1/2 model year engine and is actually a 1997.5 not 1998. They had a lot of problems with it and in 1998 came out with the "silver " engine. I think even the pistons are different and the carbs are too.

ahhh, ok...so this guy is advertising it wrong then. It is a brand new 'white' cylinder that he says will work on a 98 and a 99, no mention of a '97.5' model. Glad I did not buy it then...and feel the need to inform him of his blunder.

Thanks again for the information.
