97 seadoo GTI after I rebuild the carburetor do I need to reset any of the high and low screws or leave them as they are??

Check that they are set at factory settings. Previous owner might have changed things from normal to cope with a bunged carb. 0 turns (closed) on the high, and you'll have to look up the low.

All in the manual.

Make sure that you look at the plugs after you adjust the high speed. You could run lean depending on how clean the carb is. If you run lean, you have a very good chance to burn the engine up. If you are not sure, ask, there are many here that know what they are doing and can help. They have been a huge help to me.

My engine is running a bit lean (will be adjusted this week). To make sure I had no issues, right after each ride, I popped the seat and touched the plugs with my fingers. Burning hot is a problem but if you can hold your fingers straight on them, most likely the engine is not overheating (mine are hot but I can keep my fingers on them right after riding). I was told on this forum that high screw should always be closed and that if you had to open it, it meant a problem somewhere else. But another guy on this forum told me he was always opening it a bit to be more safe. Go figure.

What I was told the best way to adjust the high speed is with a tachometer. Open the hs until you notice a drop of rpm of about 50 rpm or so. You should be good right there. The ls should be good at stock, but you need to watch the oil injection marks when it is idling, and set to about 1500 rpm in the water

Your model is different as mine but you have to adjust idle screw first (3000 RPM outside of water). Then you adjust the low speed screw until the engine runs smooth (better to do that in the water I think). Your manual can be found at seadoo manuals dot net (pick the first link even it doesn't specify GTI) but I had trouble interpreting it (1-3/4). Maybe someone else can interpret it for us?

All my knowledge is theoretical because my dealer forbids me to change anything by myself on my carb for one year since my new engine is under warranty... It sucks...
