Hi

I have a GTX DI 2001 that just died, bottom of the engine sized, I want to keep it for parts and buy another one.
I did some search but can't find exactly wich years this model exist, I think it'S from 2000 to 2003 but not sure, it has the 947 DI engine.

Can somebody confirm wich years I should buy to be sure to have all my parts compatible? I don't care about the body parts, because I know the body changed in 2002 i think but engine is the same.
But i want to be sure, computer, engine and the rest are the same

Info I found on all shop manual online, is that there was a GTX-DI with the same engine from 2000 to 2003 and a XP DI with the same engine in 2004. SO just need to be sure if the rest of the psrts are compatible

So if somebody can guide me it would be great, so I will be able to look for a used one after that

Thanks!

For all di's, things changed in 02 (5 port vs 6 port cylinders, head, air injectors, fuel timing in mpem, etc.) so you'll want anything 00-01

That’s a DI, just below the seat it says Rotax Direct Fuel Injection.

Well, on this one also it’s direct injection, Facebook Marketplace: 2000 BRP-SEADOO GTX MILLENIUM - Cars, Trucks & Motorcycles - Montreal, Quebec but it’s a rfi

There was GTX direct injection RFI and GTX DI direct injection in 2000. But which one was the millenium édition?

On my GTX it’s clearly identify DI, not only GTX. But I don’t see it on this millenium edition

I sent him a message to see. But if somebody knows if millenium édition was done for GTX DI and GTX rfi that can help me in my research

I know GTX DI are blue or red. But I don’t know if there was blue millenium édition GTX RFI

You are wrong, the RFI is not direct injected and not a 951. A RFI is a fuel injected 787, not direct injected. The copper one you linked to is an RFI 787.

The DI is only a direct injected 951.

The "Millenium Edition" was just marketing BS for the 2000 model years and they came in Carbed 951's and DI 951's.

Just to clarify one thing?

My 2001 is a 947 DI engine, you are saying engine of DI in 2000 is a 951?

So not the same in 2000 and 2001, because the other post it says 2000 and 2001 are the same?

Thanks to clarify

no
the blue and white ME was also available as carb 951
Do you know what years?
The parts diagram I was looking at didn't list it that way.

Looking at it again it looks like the color doesn't matter, blue and red can be either a carbed or DI ski.
Thanks for making it confusing Seadoo!

The sure way to tell is to look at the GTX sticker below the rear seat, it will either say "Powered by Rotax Marine" which is the carbed model or it will say "Rotax Direct Injection" which is the DI one.

947 and 951 basically the same just a different interchangeable name. Like Chevy 350 or 5.7. Seadoo internally calles it a 947 type engine but the actual displacement is 951cc. So it was probably some design designation during the design phase of the engine and they just named it 947. Now one might ask, why not just call it a 950 from the beginning and make everything much easier like the Japanese but we are dealing with crazy Austrians here.
A DI is a DI but they changed some components in 2002? @DanSquires

Your 2000 and a 2001 will be the same.

yea they made it confusing AF in 2000 for the colors. I just know there's no red and black RFI and no orange and white 951.

And yes, the 00-01 DI were the 6 port cylinders, and 02+ were 5 port. If in question, the black air injectors are for 6 port, and gray are for 5 port. This is when the term "LE" came into play as well.
FWIW, if I were to get an 00-01, i would hock those black injectors for big money, and swap the head/injector rail/air injectors to the 02+ gray injectors. Those black injectors go out often, and are getting pricy. The gray ones are much more bulletproof.

Rfi= Real fuel injection= 787 cc motor. Engine fuel injectors are not on top of cylinder head but in cylinders
DI= Direct injection= 951 cc motor. Easy to differentiate as injectors are on top of cylinder head. Slightly reconfigured in 2002 to achieve low emission status so legal to run on many lakes that outlaw 2 strokes.

Hi

First thanks to you all to clarify this for me

I'am french first, so not sure to understand what your are saying about injector?
You are saying that is better to swap the head of a 2002 on a 2001?
Sorry for that, just not so good in english :)
And I did see that price of the injector are expensive for the 2001, I wonder if I should sell all the parts of my 2001 DI instead. or if i get a good deal on a 2000 and 2001 DI keep it for parts.
I'am not looking to buy a new one yet, so instead of buying another model used one, maybe it'S better to go with the DI since I already have a used one...

Thanks again for your help
