I have a 2003 XP DI. I am going through it and one thing I found when cleaning the oil tank was that the SD parts image is different than the what is on the boat. I dont know if something is missing. It shows a short hose and a valve attached. the photo show inside the cap and there is nothing to attach the hose and valve to. is it missing something or am I missing something! THANKS! see attached photooil vent system diagram and photo.jpg

There is a piece broken off. Look close at the light blue plastic & you will see a rough edge. The valve and short hose are attached to a nipple that "would" normally be located where yours is missing. These are very commonly broken & you can pretty much rest assured the missing part is in your oil tank. :)

It will work fine without it. The idea was that the returned oil from the air pump goes into that section & then get pushed/pulled passed the check valve & back into the tank. its assisted by some vacuum from the other line that goes back to the throttle body IIRC

you are the only person walking the planet that I found that knows about this! Thank you for the feedback. I like to ride the XP's vertical but I am concerned about air bubbles getting to the oil pump since the oil tan pickup is in the front of the tank. it is written on the oil tank not to fill more than about 75% full. any ideas?
