Im most likley rebuilding my 951 cc (98 xp) this season or the end of it. I looked at a couple kits and heard some things about some too. I have heard SBT's arent the best...and wiseco is a bit pricier. Could i just order the full gasket kit for my motor from SBT and just get pistons/rings from wiseco? And i saw there are different bore sizes? like up to 1017? I would have to send out my whole core to get bored wouldnt i then probably have to grab stronger connecting rods and a crank...Oh and does anyone make high compression pistons? or dont you do that to 2 strokes. I was hoping with my rebuild to maybe up the power:stupid::hurray:

Sbt....

For the 951, the pistons that they send out for their engines are fine. Why would they put out that 2 year warranty if not.

I'm working on my 12th engine from them and have had nothing significant bad happen. Is it a lucky streak? No, I think it's due to experience in what I'm doing.

I've seen a few people complain about their motors but I wonder what the chances are that just maybe, they made a mistake in the installation.

I don't want to say that they are perfect, I'm sure they've had some flubbed engines, but so far, for me,........things have been great.

Of course, like you mention, Weisco pistons can't be beat on the quality aspect. But from what I understand, the only corners SBT is cutting is on the pistons that they put out on the supercharged 4 TEC's. I haven't looked into that yet but we have a member who's experienced this first hand......
