I winterized my GTX last year, and it was running perfect, this year, I get it out, take the battery off the shelf and nothing. I take the battery and have it tested, and it comes back good, so I bring it back, stick it back in and nothing. It wont even chirp. I cant figure out what is going on, I checked all my battery cables and connections, and there all good, I took apart all the electrical connectors and cleaned them, and I still dont have anything, howver If your looking at the ECM, and un plu the back wire block, and plug it back in, it chirps, and you have 1 shot to fire it up, and it will run for hours, you turn it off, and you have nothing, unplu and plu that plug back in, and it fires. I thought maybe my problem was there, but if you go the back of the ski where the square plug plus into your electrical box back there and unplug it and plu it back in, it does the same exact thing. Where do I go from here?

please add your ski info including the year to your avatar, what year is the ski? When you attach the lanyard it does not beep at all but if you unplug and replug back in it will beep and try to start 1 time?

I would say a relay sticking somewhere possibly.

Make sure that battery is fully charged!

also try disconnecting the pos or neg of the battery put it back on and see if it does the same thing where it will only start once

Its a 2000 Seadoo GTX 951, It only beeps, if you unplug and plug back in the plug, then you can fire it up, but if you let off the start button before it starts, or turn it off and try to re fire it up, it wont chirp or turn over again until you unplug and plug again. Once you fire it up, its fine and runs great till you shut it off again.

you have the same ski as I do. Pull one or both of the battery cables and put them back on and see if it will start that 1 time that way as well.

I should also add, that the key has to be already plugged in for it to work. I have wiggled the lanyard and tried both of my keys in it. I will try the battery terminal tommorow.

try a light tapping on the side of your mpem while trying to start it or even before hand and see if you get the standard beep, beep.

I cleaned both keys I have and the dess, nothing, tried tapping on the mpem and nothing. If I take the terminals off the battery and put them back on, as long as the dess is plugged in, it will beep and start, if its not pre plugged in, its a no go.
