Winterizing without breaking in new engine?

Hey guys,

I need some insight on my 98 speedster (twin 800's). I just replaced one of the engines in it with a new one. Almost done everything but I've got a lot of stuff going on with moving, so I dont think I will have time this year to properly break it in on the water. It's already starting to get pretty cool in Ontario. I am just wondering should I be concerned about not breaking it in this year? Or am I overthinking this? I will obviously put stabilizer in the gas, run antifreeze through it and fog the cylinders.
Thanks for the input!

Did you run water in it? If so just follow the normal winterization procedure.

No water has run through the new engine.
I was just wondering if storing the boat all year long without breaking it in would do anything "bad" to the engine.
Just dont want any problems next season when I go to start it up for the first time.

If you haven't ran water thru it, I would just pull the spark plugs, spray it with fogging oil and call it a day. I wouldn't think twice about it.

Yes, if it never had water in it there’s nothing to prevent from freezing so don’t add anything. Fogging oil is good to prevent the fresh cylinders from rusting.
