I just moved from NY (Great Lakes) to mooresville NC (lake Norman) is in necessary to winterize down here cuz I herd it doesn't get below freezing enough I put stablo in every tank of 93 no ethanol gas please let me know if u live around here

When you winterize you do things such as Gig the engine and out Stabil in the fuel.

So YES, it should still be done.

I hate for a freak freeze to happen and cost you 2 grand for a new engine as compared to 5 dollars of antifreeze.

Does it stay in a garage? I don't winterize my skis. Aside from putting stabil in the gas, but my skis are in my garage. Which isn't heated, but is attached to my house.

Oh and put my batteries on tenders.

Agree that if in garage may not need to winterize. However, I keep my boat in the garage and drain the intercooler on my SC engine when I change the oil. I have a friend with the 155HP non SC engine and he only changes the oil with no issues the past 3 years.

I also live in Mooresville, NC. and I can assure you it does get below freezing here several times during the winter months.
I'd always recommend winterizing to not just protect against freezing, but also engine corrosion that can be avoided by using antifreeze, and fogging the engine ..as well as using stabil fuel treatment.
See some of the great articles here about the correct way to winterize your machine, so it's ready for Lake Norman in the spring.
