Why am I removing my jet for an engine swap?

I don't see any reason why I can't leave the shaft in and detach the engine and slide it forward an inch to clear the shaft.

Am I missing something?
 
I have already wasted about 2 hours trying to remove the jet housing, stopped, and said to myself, "This ain't no XP...I have plenty of room to move the engine in the bay...."

At least now I won't have to replace all the rubber and neoprene stuff....
 
Sorry scooper may have led you up the garden path with that one!
I dont have the room to move my motors far enough forward to release the drive shafts, but you obviously do. And it only taks me about 10mins to remove the pumps and shaft, had them off about 10 times now.
Just relized you have the VTS which would make it a fair bit harder.
