What type line to use for pulse line?

My problem Ski 13 is driving me NUTS!
All new fuel lines, added inline filter, rebuilt carb, vent lines, tank vent, pulse line, grounds, connections, battery.
I used regular fuel line to replace pulse line. I wonder if the regular line is the wrong stuff to use? Maybe it is pinching shut? Trying to tune in the carb and it just is not right at WOT!
I am going to do the tests on carb tomorrow, make sure it's not at fault. After all the new parts.

Since it's not part of the fuel delivery system, I've never changed the pulse line hose. But I know what you are saying, it's a formed hose, and using regular 1/4" fuel line I can see where the hose would kink. If you still have the original hose, and if it's in good condition re-use it, if not try using a longer piece of 1/4" fuel line where it doesn't kink. If that doesn't work you may need to get the OEM hose.

So its ok to leave the gray hose? That's the only hose I have left to replace on one engine. The other engine has been done already.

I'll take a pic of 2 tomorrow on my speedster. That's the only tempo on it, everything else was black line from the factory.

I just went to the garage and the two ski's I have here are black formed hoses, pretty sure both are original because they still have the oeitaker clamps at the engine end. The 96GTI should be similar to yours. The hose on the 96GSX looks long enough that it could be replaced with 1/4" gas line hose, I'm not so sure about the 96GTI.

Added: Well I'm going to do the back stroke on this, I just looked at the parts diagram, the 2000GTI has one carburetor and it looks line the pulse line is not a formed hose, just a straight piece of 6mm (1/4") hose. Can anyone who has a single carbed GTI verify this?

I have a 2000 GS, the pulse line is not a formed hose. What I do, is put a piece of 1/2" over top of the 1/4" hose just in the bend. It helps to keep the bend from becoming a kink. In the picture it is not in the right position but you get the idea. Put a tye wrap on either side to keep it from sliding around.

MIne is not kinked. Not new to wrenching. The engine end had a regular screw clamp the carb side was the screwed up ones! It was a Tempo line.

95 XP 720, my HX was the same. This ski is factory, my buddy bought it new in 95.

See I am not crazy!

I've got to admit you were right about this, however it doesn't mean you're not crazy. Anybody involved in this hobby, sport, addiction, or whatever you want to call it has got to be a little crazy. You've got to admit you have to be a little crazy to put this much time and energy into keeping these old ski's running.

So far, I've changed all of the hoses on 5 different skis and they all had grey tempo lines for pulse hoses, but not anymore...

I did read you need 25 feet of fuel line to replace all. So I have about 15 feet left. Just did them all.
I did have an older then me guy pull up to me while towing the Ski's. He asked me if I ride them. Well Duh! I rode one accross the glass smooth ocean at full WOT for a mile too. He said I am Half Loopy!
