<-- see avatar - 90 talon AWD turbo 5sp is how I get my jetski to the lake :) Works great just get some funny looks since everyone else at the ramp has a truck lol

I get the same thing towing with my WRX. People think that you need a truck or something! I can't wait till the 4th of july, I'll be doing a double trailer with it, I'm sure to get some hard looks with that setup lol.

I sure hope that car is rated for towing that much. Too much strain on the trans, motor, and brakes.

but here we go swinging that dead cat around again :)

The wagon version of my car is rated to 3000lbs. Surely the sedan can do it. It has 4 pot front brakes and 2 pot rears with race pads and rotors on them, the HD clutch, and stock trans can take whatever I throw at them, so I'm sure two jetskis will be just fine.

I love these giant brakes <3

Thats a google image, but you get the idea. They're bigger then some trucks I've seen!

My Tow rig is a 2008 Pathfinder 4wd. trailer is a Karavan two in one. I love it, bring both or leave one at home. Storage is extra great just require enough room for one width.

Yup, big a$$ brakes for sure. I was curious what year that STI is? The guys on the STI forums were giving one of the members crap for using his as a tow vehicle when the 2008 STI manual rated the car for 906lb with trailer brakes and 453 without and a 90kg tongue weight.

Suburu will not rate the Imprezza sedans of any type. The 2008 WRX STI Manual states: "Your vehicle is neither designed nor intended to be used for trailer towing. Therefore, never tow a trailer with your vehicle.
SUBARU assumes no responsibility for injuries or vehicle damage that may result from trailer towing, from any trailer towing equipment or from any errors or omissions in the instructions accompanying such equipment. SUBARU warranties do not apply to vehicle damage or malfunction caused by trailer towing."

Cars101 stated: "Subaru doesn't supply hitches for the sedans or recommend towing and so it is not suggested or recommended and there is no offficial approval. Warranty could be affected by any towing"

If the above ratings matched what was printed on your door jam, that would make it legal for one ski, and have all the power and braking for two, but put you well over it's legal limit. Power to weight ratio on the STI is sick and will give it's owners a sense of invincibility.

Check your door jam for specs and get back to us.

DUDE! I love those cars!! I had like 3 of them some time back, but they were just the 2.0L, non-turbo. Still, very fun cars. I've always wanted the turbo model to make fast, but never got around to it. That car with that setup has plenty of power to get that little ski in/out of the water. I bet you could even pull a double trailer, but at that point, I'd worry about your stopping capabilities.

I don't think he will have any issues towing that little ski. These cars can handle abuse.

Cool thread idea. I will post my pic later. I pull my challenger 1800 with my HUMMER H3. I get a lot of shit when I'm at the gas station... but what people don't realize is that my H3 only has an inline 5 cylinder. Its actually very gutless and uses the same fuel as a F150. Its the friggen boat that uses all the fuel. But trust me with the boat attached or not I can't go to a gas station one time without some idiot making a comment about the fuel. And yes... I realize my rig is a girl rig... but I can't afford the gas of a H2 or god forbid a H1

Yea, 2-stroke jet boats are the worst things for fuel economy. Really, I think the only vehicle that gets worse MPG is a backhoe or a WWI tank.

1997 GMC Yukon just rolled 200K while on vacation. I've been behind almost every mile since 55K. I wouldn't hesitate to go from coast to coast towing my boat or skis. Still running strong and hands down reliable. :patriot:

GMC Power...attaboy racerxxx!!!

I am subscribed to this thread but i dont think I have ever posted my rig.

02 GMC Envoy SLT. 4x4 with G80 Locker Rear End. Fully loaded, brand new Goodyear Fortera All Terrain's. Inline 6. Makes about 265 HP. Pulls the skis and the 4 wheelers like a dream compared to other smaller SUV's. I use it in the winter to pull my 6x12 trailer and 05 Kawi 4X4 Atv when I do snow removal. The thing is a beast, never has gotten stuck even in the 14" snowfall pulling the trailer when the roads werent even clear. I love this truck, never had a problem with it. I used to be a Ford Guy, but I have realized how reliable these GM's are and I love the way they ride. Next truck will be a Dirtymaxxx, but I will be keeping the Envoy for sure.

What can i say? I'm a Jeeper, 1996 Jeep ZJ Orvis Edition 5.2L 2inch lift, 31's, swapped a bunch of stuff on it, NP249 t-case to a NP242, "98 ZJ 5.9L Hood, Grille, interior and wheels" Injectors out a 94 Police crown vic, E-fan swap, also afew other things. Its a beast and still gets in the mid 20s on the hwy.

I pull my 05 Speedster 200 with an Audi Q5 3.0T, and she pulls it with ease. 295lbs of torque at like 2500 RPMs is great for a small car. Also has a 4400lb tow limit. I'm pretty sure the AWD helps a lot. This weekend I'm going to Lake Anna in VA which is about 2 hours from my place, that will be the first trip over 30 miles away. Real test will be this August when I got 8 hrs away! Can't wait. Going 65 mph on 95 I get about 19-21 mpgs.

Here's my nimble 97 Explorer towed by Opel Omega(Cadillac Catera in USA) 3.0 v6. Pulls the small trailer and Explorer with ease and never had any problems on boat ramps even though it has no limited slip rear axle. Stick in the back of Explorer is a home-made "waketower" :coolgleam: and it really helps getting not so seasoned wakeboarders and kneeboarders up from the water.

Nice tractor jesse. Wow, I didn't realize how far back the axle is on the 1800 Challenger trailers! That must be a hell of a lot of tongue weight! This weekend I had to welt a web reinforcement at the Y joint on my boat trailer. I somehow bent it (probably turning into rush hour traffic). I suggest anyone with a galvenized Challenger trailer that just has the two beams merging do likewise as that is NOT a very strong design. If my little Jetta could do that, your (whatever) could do it even easier!

Not sure what bracket you are describing. Post up a pic.
That is not a Challenger trailer. I'm not sure what boat it originally trailered. Everything on the trailer is bolt on with "U" bolts. Been thinking about moving the axle forward about 8 to 12 inches just for ease of manuvering.
The best part of the trailer is the roller bunks. Man what a snap to load, especially by yourself.

anyone in here pulling with a civic? thinking about getting rid of my truck for a MUCH more economical car.. well not really thinking about getting rid of it.. i kind of have to get rid of it.

they seam to have similar tq compared to my buddies FWD compass.. towing capacity is 1000 lbs which im pretty sure im going to be a little over.. 847 lbs dry weight with the ski alone..
