Can anyone tell me the approximate value of this boat:

1995 Speedster (overall good condition, a few rips in the seats here and there)
OEM trailer (good condition)
Both motors run good with 150 lbs compression on all 4 cylinders
Jets look to be in good shape.

No papers for anything.

Verified not stolen.

What would a boat like this be worth?

This is a tricky part... I believe that with registered ownership, the title can be re-issued to the current owner. What is the history behind this, and will you be able to transfer registration so that you can legally use the boat?

As is, Assuming you cannot get registration ever, it would be illegal to use...It would be as good as the sum of it's parts when broken up.

If you can get a registration sticker, so that you can legally operate it, then somewhere between $3K and $8K depending on your location and the ignorance of the buyer, and how good looking it really is. (Ripped seats are a turn off for some buyers, so discount for that)

Easiest thing is go to Boat Trader and find good comparables to get an idea.

Good Luck!

It's end of season... and it depends on how clean it is.

$4k if it's super clean... down to $1500. All states are different... so I'm not sure what "No Papers" means. But if you don't have "Title" of some kind... and you can't register it... it's only worth what the parts are worth. Since it's a 95... it's a little different from the 96 and newer boats, so the parts are harder to get rid of.

If you don't have a title then the boat isn't yours the sum of the parts are.... You can't register it so you can't operate it. Start unbolting parts and get them on Ebay and take the money and buy a boat.

Assuming data plate(s) are intact and possibly past registration numbers are still on boat? Can you not apply for lost title like a vehicle? If data plates are gone, I would suspect foul play.

The thing about missing paperwork is that there are 2 kinds. The kind you can get back, and the kind that you cannot. If the paperwork can be replaced to the point you can register the boat, then that's one thing. If the paperwork is irreplaceable (seems odd as a seller to not put the effort it to get it, if it's obtainable that's all) then it not a boat..it's a bunch of parts bolted together that can't boat.

I'm not sure what side of the operation you are on (Are you buying or selling?) If you are buying, and you are interested, throw him a low bone AFTER having done some legwork with the serial number and obtaining information on WHO the registered owner is, making sure he exists and is willing to sign and and get all set up to get the paperwork perfect. It may cost a few bucks, but the boat is not a boat without a registration, so without ensuring you can register you could potentially spend you money and not get a boat, but a bucket of parts. You can also give him deal contingent on being able to register the boat, show him what you learned about boat title in your research, and close the deal only with title in hand. No title no deal.

It's worth whatever you want to pay and the seller wants to take, before exchanging it. If nobody else has bought it yet, and it has been a long time in the market,it is probably not an awesome deal.

Good Luck. Ultimately the decision is yours. just be sure for your own benefit, you are not caught in a situation you can't get out from.
