I have a seadoo 1992 xp which i love. it runs like a champ.
well here goes.....

Last week a freind of mine called me and told me he was wanting to get rid of his jetski. He had a 1999 polaris genesis 1200 fuel injected. He was tired of looking at it and sold it to me for 200 dollars. At first i said to my self if i can get it running i have made out pretty good. well it was a very clean machine but it had been sitting for 2 years. so i didnt know what i was in for. well i brought it home. put a battery in it and sure as it could happen the motor was seized. well i had someone told me to put marvel mystery oil in it and try to free the pistons up . i did that and for three days tried it and with no luck only 2 of the three pistons would free up. I became fed up with it and decided to try to sell it and if i couldnt sell it i would part it out. well after no luck on selling it i was about to part it out when someone called me and asked if i still had it. I said yes and they wanted to know if i would be willing to trade even steven for a 1993 yamaha waverunner that ran. i said to my self I paid 200 dollars for one that didnt run and now have the opportunity to get one that runs . I traded and it runs like a champ. it has 125 psi per piston. is that a proper pressure? Its a 500cc. I dont know much about them. can anyone tell me anything about them? i am planning on the wife using that one and me using the seadoo. Did i screw up?

You paid $200 for a running yamaha. sounds OK by me.

142 PSI is perfect for the WR500 motor, at 125 you are a little low, but should be OK for this year. Think about rebuilding it next winter

I'm glad to hear you got away from that fuel injected Polaris. It was gonna be nothin' but heart ache. You could have traded it for a cup of coffee and came out ahead on the deal.
