Water in foot wells while drifting.

I use my 1999 GSX limited to fish, but I always have water in the footwells while drifting. Anyone ever heard of a way to add like a foam wedge to the area so it would go out when you drive, then not enter when you drift.

just trying to see if anyone has figured it out for when you are out on the water.

my buddy said to add a foam wedge to the back transom area that ramps out off the ski.

Hard to prevent it on that hull. I have a GTX also, get that larger hull if you want it minimize it. On the GTX if I slow down gradually I don't get water in the foot wells, but forget it on the GSX.

Yeah same here with walking it down but just a few seconds and it starts filling up. Alright thanks!

wet feet?! try using a 99+ XP... just staying right side up is a challenge. :p
The wet feet aren’t an issue but for fishing it would be ideal to not have that. I grew up on boats since age 5 man not concerned about it just a question. Also fixed the issue with two yoga blocks… thanks

age 5?! lol. (Insert topper comment) I'm just razzin ya'. It's a PWC... people get wet sometimes. Usually when they don't want to. For fishing the 99-02 GTX would be a lot more stable/bigger option. The GSX is basically a 130 HP on top of a piece of plywood. Wicked fun ski, but not the world's most stable option. I had 2 of them. 951s were my specialty. of course prices of everything have doubled this year.

You may want to check the fuel lines on that ski if they still have the grey OEM lines. They get eaten by E10 fuel and clog up, starving the engine for fuel, causing it to seize up.

I always wanted a way to pipe the coolant indicator hose line to the footwells, so you'd have heated water coming into the footwells to keep you warm in the spring/fall. Never got around to it. I think the water would have been too hot, and I didn't want to try to plumb in something from a cooling line and some sort of mixing valve just to have warm water at my feet while riding... or maybe find a way to make it a heated seat using the hot water line, and a valve that adjusts the flow which would adjust the temp.

I remember the wet days... closest ramp to my place where we used to ride didn't even have docks, so you usually had no choice but to get in. Made me livid trying to handle 2 skis at once. I wrote to the fish commish a dozen times. Sold the skis a few years back, and apparently now 5 years later they actually paved the parking lot, but still no docks. PWCs (BOATS according to the PA FIsh Commish), pay the same taxes as anyone with a "boat", and our ramp had no paved lot. No docks. And a "ramp" that was some stupid broken railroad tie style that was awful for trailers, awful for hulls, and awful for human feet. While the "boat" ramp, less than 1/10th mile away had... paved lot, floating docks, and paved ramp. and geniuses with pitch forks at the ready if you legally used the "boat" ramp. I gave up the fight w/the fish commish once I sold my skis, but to this day I still make my fuel usage as a big fat "1" gallon on my boat registration, so they get as little money as possible.
