Ok heres the deal.. 98 Sea Doo GS with the 717 in it. After getting them out for the summer cleaned it up pulled the plugs Hooked the hose up and turned it on by not thinking clearly but then i notice water slowly filling up in one of the cylinders but more in one than the other. Here is the background. These are a friend of mines that im getting ready to buy (hopefuly) he never winterized them so my first thought is cracked cylinder or head, tore the top end off tonight and can not find a crack at all and everything looks just fine.. Im clueless here... alot of money could go into rebuilding here but im not sure it is needed i have the motor open now with time ticking very fast.. Im thinking about replacing the top end seals and gaskets and trying again the reason why is because the seals were all their and intact but i couple i frowned apon more so the bottom gasket because it was slightly bubbled and had crrosion on top of the gasket where the water cooling portion of the cylinder sits.. Any ideas??

water in cylinders

What you've done here is turned on he hose without the ski going.... the ski need to be running before you turn on the hose. Also needs to be running before you turn the hose off... start ski /hose on .. hose off/ stop ski. You've filled up your exhaust with water and it's made its way into your cylinders... now you have to get all the water out of the engine quickly before it rusts the internal parts.

"0" ring.....

That's possible, but it's more likely that you put outside pressue on the "0" ring sealing the head and water jacket from the force of the water hose. Pushed the "0" ring inside and the water poured in.

Im wondering if that is what it is because the seals are all their but the all look weak to me.. Ill try a top end gasket kit and try again.. Ill keep you guys posted..
