So we have isolated most of the problem with my boat. It may be ECM or something stupid.
Again it is 210 hp m2 jet drive 2002 seadoo challenger 1800.
Ok we have checked all grounds and they are all good.
The situation is that we don't get the warning horn when the key is turned on to let you know the system is active. I can test the horn and it works find. This makes me believe the ECM is bad. As per the manual.
However, when the battery runs down, the alarm triggers everytime when the key goes from off to on. But with a fully charged battery this is not the case.
Also, with a fully charged battery the primer pump runs constantly. However, with a less than full battery it clicks three times and turns off. My worry is that the ECM is not working properly or something else is wrong. Being that we get the horn when the battery is run down, makes me believe it is not the ecm.
Could this be as simple as a bad battery? Has anyone else ever seen something like this.
The boat will runs and start fine. I am just afraid to run it with a bad ECM as the over rev limiter will not work nor will my warning horns.
Thank you all. My mechanic is stumped as is everyone else I talked to. Hopefully the vast array of seadoo owners can help me to the promise land.
