VTS on a newer gti

For towing or multiple people deff makes a diff and I know riding alone I can deff get it to "grip" better in corners when its trimmed down... so I would say yes

i wont be towing anyone. in my gsx i usually keep it neutral and very rarely use it trimmed down. i figures in a gti 3 seater it may benefit to trim it up for the fun factor more than i would on my gsx. probably answered my own question lol.

As long as its answered at the end of the day its all good I do get 1-2 mph faster when its just me if I trim up but if you have to add vts to get that 1-2 more not sure its worth it to me personally.

I don't have a lot of time on that hull so take this with a grain of salt.

I have ridden a friends GTR, same hull as the new GTI, and I found the trim does not make as much of a difference as it did on a 97 GSI or an 04 RXP. When using the trim on the older models I found it made a big difference on how the ski handled chop and how it handled when carving corners when jumping waves on the RXP with full nose up trim you had to be careful as it really launched you nose up. Riding the GTR the trim does work and you can feel a difference just not as noticeable as on the older skis. My .02 YMMV.

What I do like on the newer skis is the IBR system once you get a few hours use the two fingered control when manoeuvering at slow speeds is fantastic.

thanks for the reply, that helps a lot. the vts is like a double edge sword as much as i like it on my gsx, its another thing to go wrong. but like i said, i don't use it much when on calmer waters but wasn't sure how it would be on a larger ski. i can save 700$$ on a model without it.

The old VTS units used to fail on a regular basis where the newer system seems to be reliable as there are few complaints on the interweby boards about VTS failures on the new models.

i use mine 90% tried up for the fun factor it helps it jump right up out of the water specially with a second/third rider also is much much smoother in the ocean and goes right up over the waves. I leave it neutral for longer rides when I'm not planning on looking for waves or doing any 180's and of course down for the added speed (only in the lakes though). 2014 Gti Limited 155
