using carbs off a 93 657 motor to a 96 717

Will carbs off a 1993 xp that has a 657 motor work on a 1996 spx 717 motor.

The difference i see is the intake on the 657 takes the type 1 carb mount, and the intake on the 717 takes type 2 carb mount, i would be switching the intakes they seem to have the same bolt pattern that mounts to the rotary plate.

any thoughts greatly appreciated

they will fit and run. only reason to do it is to get by with what you have. i guess you are trying to put newer bigger motor into older ski. if going to that trouble, get new throttle and choke cables and use carbs that are correct for the motor. if trying to put older smaller carbs into newer ski, you will run into same problem with cables.
