I posted about my wife ending up in the ER and rec'g 5-6 stiches after the rope was ripped from her hand and sucked up into the intake of the speedster. She's doing fine, the boat well not so good.
I tried to take the intake grate off yesterday to see how much the rope was wrapped up in there. The front bolt that holds the intake grate on snapped intwo lvg just a small portion sticking out of the hull. The rope is wound so tight that its all the way up inside the rubber boots. So I called Mr. Statefarm man and they said they'd cover it. So I took the boat in to the dealership today. They said the bolt should be covered by warranty as this appeared to be a factory defect. You could see where the intake grate was put on at such an angle and the bolt had already wollered out the grate. So maybe finding all this out was a blessing in disguise.
Anyways they are gonna call w/the estimate to fix it.
