Tubing tow rope extensions/best length?

After upgrading from the '95 XP to the '13 GTI 130 I've noticed the tail from the jet pump is much more aggressive for tubers. We had a 50' rope but now riders get sprayed right in the face. I've just purchased the longest tow rope I could find (60'). Does anyone else with the same model know about the best length for tubing?

I haven't tested with it yet, but I'm hoping it's better. If not, does anyone know where I could get some extensions? We can easily pull two adults, so I got a 4k rope. I'd like to get the same in an extension if possible.

I use a 4 person rope all the time and yes 60' is perfect. They won't get any spray, only a little from splashing in the rough stuff but no roost from the machine.

I use a multi section ski rope with the handle removed. Well, the handle met the lawn mower one day and I got a tube rope out of it, LOL

they sell various lengths of extensions, color coded, easy to loop in but the boat supply stores can be really pricey, but perhaps better quality..

$30-40 on ebay will get you an slalom waterski rope kit that usually runs 80 feet with detachable color coded sections. Add or subtract as you need it.

edit.. 70 feet, just 2x checked it

Thanks for all the replies. I'll give this new 60' rope a go and see if it's about right. Also just bought a wakeboard... Stoked to give that a try as well.

Yeah, we have a 50 as well, kids hated it. Found a harness for a boat with a pully built in, 12". Has two clips for boat, clipped both to tow hook other end to rope. Kids love love it! No spray, better cornering. Airhead brand harness.
