trouble starting yellow 587 motor

i had my ski out the last 3 days and yesterday when i went to load it on the trailer it wouldn't start starter rolled over very weak solinoid clicks when you hit the button tried jumping solinoid with screwdriver but nothing the last time the solinoid went out i jumped it and it at least sparked but nothing this time so trying to figure out if it is the solinoid or starter any help

Check the wires on the battery. They should be clean, have a good connection and no corrosion. Check the ground too at the starter location. Does the battery have a full charge in it? It might need to be checked for a load test at like Auto Zone, that does it for free. If the battery has a bad cell it won't have enough amps to turn it over or start it. Let us know how it goes.

battery is brand new cables to battery looked free of corrosion gonna try to jump starter while still on machine to see if it turns then that should tell me

It is still possible that the ends are corroded on the inside. If they look corroded cut the ends off and put on new ones, then you know they are good. Give the starter relay a jump across the post to see if turns over.

i took out starter today no corrosion jumped starter to battery it turned over put back in rolled over barely struggled then after that solinoid clicked again so thinking maybe the starter just doesn't have enough to turn motor over what do you think

You could have the starter checked at a local starter/ alternator re builder company. Some Auto Zone stores can check it too. Check the end of the starter for corrosion also.

do you think it could be the solinoid or is it leaning more to the starter cause after i took it out and put it back in it tried to roll over but mad a whining sound and barely even rolled engine over motor moves freely so what do you think
