Trailer Light problem

Having some issues with the lights on my trailer and wondering if you guys have some ideas on where to start looking. The brake lights and turn signals work fine on both sides, however the running lights on the drivers side are not illuminated. The passenger side works as it's supposed to. Any ideas?

If it's not the bulb then it's probably the ground. I was having all kinds of weird issues with mine until I hooked up the white wire to the trailer ground.

Are all the running lights out for that side? If so, I don't think it's a ground. The running lights and turn signal use the same ground and light housing. I think it's the positive wire for the running lights on that side of the trailer. On a simple 4 flat plug, the brown wires feeds all the running lights on both sides of the trailer. I would start at the front of the trailer and follow the brown wire, looking for a broken spot. Where it splits off to the bad side would be my first suspicion. If you can't figure it out, it's cheap and easy to just rewire the whole trailer. You can get the whole wire harness for like $7 at harbor freight. If its an old trailer, you probably have some bad spots in the wiring.

Thanks guys. RF you are correct..the running lights (2) on that side of the trailer do not work so I do not suspect it to be a ground. I will check the brown wire on that side and at the split. It is a 4-flat plug. I hate wiring, but with a bit of common sense I have fixed basic issues in the past. Nothing with the boat trailer though. I'll look into this and report back on my next days off. Thanks again!

Youtube is so convenient! Checked a few youtube videos and I think I'll be able to handle a full rewire on the trailer. It's always timid trying to tackle jobs you've never been around before (which is wiring for me). The videos helped me get a feel for what I was getting myself into. I think I can handle this without too much of an issue. Thanks guys!

It's really easy. I did mine in just a couple hours. I also put in all new LED lights. The entire project cost me like $75.
