Topping Off Oil

I have a 2018 Seadoo GTI 155. The dealership changed the oil, but did not seat the o-ring in the filter back on correctly and it spewed oil out. The dealership made good and replaced the rings. However, they "forgot" to top off the oil. The oil just barely touches the bottom of the dipstick currently. Can I just top it off and go have fun? Or do I need to put oil in it, warm it up, let it cool, check again....? I was thinking if I fill the oil to the middle of the dipstick, then go play for a little bit, I can check it when I get it back to the garage? Thoughts?

The proper procedure for checking your oil level is outlined in your Operators Manual. It’s a 8 step procedure. If you don’t have yours they are available on the Seadoo website in PDF format.

Turns out out that the oil level was the least of my problems. First time back on the lake since the service shop replaced the forgotten oil seals and installed a new impeller shaft. After 15 minutes on the lake, I had a ton of water in the ski. This is a ski that has never leaked. Fool me once... fool me twice... off to a different service center tomorrow with my tail between my legs:( Hope they can figure out why it now leaks! Probably forgot another seal!!
