:banghead:

You know that's not normal.
Were you running it on the hose.

oh oh

this is scary? what does that mean? I really didnt have it that long beached? maybe like 45 minutes? It did sound like it was going to start, but when I looked it looked like it was water?

Do me a favor... grab one of the seals with the hose, and give it a twist. If it all moves... I think your though hull fittings have broken loose, because the bearing in the seal packs rusted to the driveshaft.

That would be why you have bad cavitation... and that the engines are full of water.

Guys, I took the 95 Sportster out today, and I went and did everything correctly. Recharged battery whole night long, I put in fresh Shell 91 gasoline (I know its not needed) but I wanted a good fresh batch in there. Put new spark plugs.

The boat started up strong, and it felt strong, everything looked great, however, when I went to push the throttle it acted like it was going to go fast and it started revving the boat high, but it didn't go on plane...

Tried a couple of more times, and I knew it it didnt sound good so I stopped and beached it, and then voila, I couldnt started it again, looked in the engine bay, it was full of water, almost all the way to pass the air box...?

What do you guys think it is? your help is greatly appreciated, thanks..

x2

You had not gotten to replacing bearing seal yet.
It will become obvious when you take pump off to take bearing carrier out.
Your lucky it din't sink.
Explains water in the cylinder :(

That picture would of been helpful in post #1

First off Doc, congrats on your new Islandia, you deserve it after all the help here!

Yes, I could move it freely, I'm not sure what's bad or good, because it always moved freely, it does however look more separated now.

Good news is I removed all the water from the holes, and my engines startup perfectly now...

Thanks OCOD again, so is that a different thing I need to change?

Thanks for the congrats... but I have an engine to rebuild... and I just found a hole in the side of it. :(

Anyway... You need to pull the pumps, and driveshafts... and then remove both seal units. To fix this... you will need 2 new hull fittings, and you will epoxy them into the hull. Then... just put it all back together.

So remove everything from reverse lever back? (where theres epoxy in the back?)

Wow.. how long does this usually take? what tools am i gonna need?

Guys, dont mean to bump this up, but I need help

I got the new seal, it doesnt look that hard, I just dont know where to start removing things?

Had the guts to remove it! thanks OCOD that link you gave me is awesome, now I see why it was more expensive it came assembled with the bearing seal, and other parts!

Does somebody have a picture of their "thru hull", mines doesnt have it, or its the white plastic piece that its broken?
