well it starts in the water, when i go to accelerate it doesnt feel boggy bud it just doesnt want to go no matter if i push the throttle all the way or just a bit it jsut gradually gets up to speed which is like 25mph. then it jsut seems like i have to sit at that speed and play with the throttle around 3/4 way down to get it to open up. If i mat it all the way it will bog and not move. it will also only go partial wot for a few seconds and then falls on its face, and just turns off in the middle of going. My last run out i was able to get it going at partial WOT for about a minute and jsut fell on its face. seems once it falls from going WOT i have to sit their and play with it to get it going decently again. finally got back to the dock pulled the plugs the lower one ( towards seat) looks mint nice chocolaty color, the top one looks rich, very dark like a dark chocolate. also compression is 140 on both. i really need some help guys i am going back out friday to play with this thing! IS it an airflow problem? fuel delivery/carb?

Go thru the carbs, boss..Heres your specs.........1995 HX 717 270500250 270500252 BN-38I (SB) MAIN-135 PILOT-67.5 1.2n/s 40 - 56psi LOW- 1-3/4 HIGH- 0 .

i also forgot to mention that it has an after market ape pipe and a increased rev limiter box in the ecu box. with the exhaust will jetting be different? also would a leaky exhaust cause an issue, or does it sound like a carb issue?

last but not least, it also looks liek my spark is weak possibly? it was very hard to see when checking for it. that and my battery died after a few stall outs, granted i went out on the water by jumping it cause the battery was dead.

Anything leaking, isn't good...air leak, will make it run lean, waterleak, can be ingested back in cylinders or not cool the sytem down enough. With performance exhaust, I'd go thru that thing before riding again, so no serious damage.
With aftermarket pipe, the exhaust is flowing easier, so jets should be fattened, to what...?, have to get back with that. Til then, i'd fix the leak

i dont think their are any leaks as far as i know. it was just a question because the guy who i purchased it from said that where the 2 pipes connect they dont make a gasket and i would need to make my own for future reference. also my plugs are rich if anything one is brown, other very dark brown.

O.k., found a site for specs..leav'n air intake stock, and stock compression, they say.......140main, 75pilot, 1.2n/s=stock, 65gram spring=44psi, LSA=1, HSA=.25

i wish i was hoem so i could check if my airbox is modified or stock, if the airbox is modified how would things change? i think i might just go home start tearing the carbs down and cleaning them up, seems like this is the only way i will know wahts going on with the internals, the thing that sucks is that my sea doo dealer is right by work.

I would be sure the battery is good and no bad cells. Have it load tested at like Auto Zone for free. If the battery is low it could be causing the same type of problem.

the battery is new i killed it the day before cause water got in my exhaust and into my cylinders so i was cranking it out for about an hour on and off and didnt charge it. figured it would charge it self back up by running in the water... i put it on a trickle charger over night last night, i will clean out the carbs i need to special order the rebuild kit. practice cant hurt. put everything back together and try it tomorrow.

so my main is a 135 pilot 67.5 my lsa was 2 1/2 turns out from gently set i think, my hsa was a 1 1/2 turns out. my jetting is pretty damn close where it should be but my lsa and hsa seems way off is this the reason i couldnt get my top end to kick in and it to move out from a stop?

They tried to compensate with the pipe, by turning the screws out. Get those jets i posted, and settings, then go from there, chief

i will go get to 140 and 2 75s tomorrow, the filters inside the carbs can i pull them out and clean them in sea foam temporarily?
