To all Oz mate's

I've seen the floods on the news, up here in the States. Looks very bad.

I wish you guys all the best.

Aust. Queensland floods

Queensland is a very big state in land area.
75% of it has now been flooded.
You might say it's a little bit damp.I am very lucky being right at the edge of it all.We only had minor flooding.10's of thousand are not so lucky.Feel so sorry for them.
Latest news is that there may be more rain in the next few weeks.
If it didn't rain for 6 months,I'd be as happy as a dog with 2 tails.

Yeah I pray for the people there. On a side note, can you ride a ski through the streets?

Floods

True as.
You could ride through the second floor.
It's not as bad as the 74 floods but hey,no ski's then to save people.
Plenty have been saved by skiis
Lets hope more

Jet skiis

That last one didn't read right.Jet skiis are having a major part in the rescues and help with pontoons etc.Pushing them to safe areas etc. There is heaps that have broken loose.Smashing into stray jetties etc.Cruisers, game fishing boats, pleasure boats.Pontoons with boats and ski,s still on them.Awash.They will be found about 30 miles away in the bay.

Yeah that flood followed me all the way down the coast. Right rom Cairns down to Brisvegas. When Sunrise had Gympie on the TV on ly 2 days earlier I was parked in the main street there. Right where they were recording. It was already 2m underwater. Unreal really feel for fellow Qlders who are doing it hard.

Qld floods

Mate! well put.
What do they say at the start of a State of Origin
"""QUEENSLANDER""
I have been through a few of the areas. They are going pretty well
So proud to be one

Hi guys. I'm in Brisbane. The floods were very bad. Horrific for those most effected. I was lucky this time, but so many were not, and I wish I could have done more to help. Then the cyclone hit. More intense the hurricane Katrina. I'm sure it's been all over the news.
Re: using a jetski in the floods. It's true jetskis were used for rescues etc. But most people like myself have not used them around flood waters. You must understand that there is so much rubbish, debri, and hidden obstacles in flood waters, that could seriously damage a jetski. I have a new ski myself and have only been game to take it to a place call Bribie Island north of Brisbane. The water up there is a little bit cleaner than most other areas. -scottozy-

Hi Scottozy
Yeh.I worded it badly.I was trying to say they were using the skis to push boats ,pontoons etc,That had broken free from their moorings and jetty's,to push them out of harms way or so they didn't collide with other obstacles.Bridge pylons and other jetties.7 of the skis from the Gold Coast surf life saving clubs were up there and also some rubber ducks to do the same things.Bribie is a nice area to ride. You can always find a good spot

Hi there chrisso. No criticism intended on your fine comment. I was just adding to it to inform others (non Aussies mainly) that we are not stupid and realize that jetskiing in flood could be dangerous both to jetski and rider. Due to rubbish and dirty water. But that aside we still do our best to save and help others. Cheers. Scottozy

Scottozy.
Mate all sweet
I wrote that during the peak of it all and it was pretty overwhelming.I am Gold Coast and to be up there was one hellava experience. The Brisbane river was moving so fast.Up where the Centenary Bridge crosses, the pontoon ramps were wrapped around and up in the trees but still attached to the bank.Things have calmed down now,but struth. The damage..
Glad you were ok
