Through Hull fitting questions

Afternoon guys. I'm not sure if you all saw my post about my XP's through-hull fitting tearing out at the lake yesterday.

I am tearing into it now and just had a few quick questions. This was a pretty easy repair last time I did it, but it seems that things tore out in a little more of a severe way this time.

The issue is that the stock plastic fitting itself tore out. So If I was to order one of the aluminum sleeve kits the sleeve would not be quite big enough diamterwise to fill the hull.

Just trying to figure out what I need to order to get this fixed.

Do I need to order a new OEM plastic hull fitting just to get the new sleeve kit in?
Do I just go ahead and slather the one I have now up in epoxy and shove it back in there?
Is there an aftermarket solution that would take the place of the original fitting?

I will include some pictures to make it easier to understand what I'm asking.

As always, I appreciate any advice or input you guys have on my situation.20210426_113354.jpg20210426_113350_HDR.jpg

What tools do you have available? I would clean up the old brown epoxy on the fitting in your hands and clean any loose material out where it sits going into the hull. Then epoxy it back in place

I had been greasing it, but I think the through hull fitting wasn't making a good seal anymore. it seems to have caught a bit of rust on the side towards the pump.

Do you guys think this bearing needs to be replaced? It doesn't seem that the rust actually made it to the bearing and it's still rolling smoothly.

I know it would be wise to replace it, but money is tight right now so if I can get away with using this one again it would be great.

I hear you. I long ago learned not to fight the wisdom of miki!

Is there any brand of bearing that's recommended over others? I believe this one was from SBT, but im looking into just ordering one like this off Amazon. The price and free/quick shipping seem right, but i want to get the best part rather than the easiest.

Also the last time I did this repair I used the Loctite marine epoxy. Is there something more preferable out there I should be ordering?

I called my local shop to ask him how much for a carrier bearing. He has them for $50 so I'll probably just go with the amazon one.

I asked him what kind of epoxy he would recommend using for the repair and he said they use "the right stuff" from permatex. While I love that stuff and use it all the time I don't think it's the right application for it. it's a gasket maker and comes out kind of rubbier rather than hard.

Does anyone think this is a good suggestion? or should I stick with marinetex / loctite marine epoxy
