Has anybody ever tried using thermocoustic sound material in the engine bay behind the seats to try and quiet the hull noise from twin motor 2 stroke jet boats?

There was a thread a couple years ago. Supposedly there was a marked noise reduction... but because of the price tag... and because it was still noisy... it was deemed "Not worth it."

Now... on the new 4-tec boats... the guys are doing it... and it's very quiet.

Thanks Dr Honda. Even a little bit of noise reduction would be just about right to hear the radio good when putzing around on one motor. I was more curious as to where to place it to get the best effect from it.

You just said something that scares me "putzing around on one motor". You do know that when one engine is off and the other is on, anything much over 5 mph will cause the non running engine to start flooding with water. I carry a couple of hose clamps in case I run into a 1 engine or tow situation. But for me I play it safe and never run on 1 engine without a clamp on the non running one.
