I love the X4. Probably never get rid of it just for how fun it is. Ive seen some pretty wild air out in lake ontario some days when them waves get rolling across. I still gotta get the pig running right, and maybe one day change over the graphics. New reg numbers are on order for this year.

6KJR, for the hydro-turf you installed; did you use the 3mm adhesive they supply?

Hey SPX. It was on there when I bought it. What is it they supply? It looks as tho they used some sort of spreadable wet glue or something. Now, my friend just did his machine a couple years ago and Im pretty sure we just pulled the backing off and stuck it on a good clean surface. Hasnt came off yet.

Stuff is awesome tho. Only ever slipped a couple times since, and I was riding pretty crazy so I cant blame the stuff.

What a great story...and you towed him in! You are an OK Guy...personaly i would have thrown him a collapsible oar...worth the 15 bucks to watch him row that canoe back to shore!!!

no it perfect!!..... if your a white person with dreadlocks, that is a vegan, smokes tons of weed, does dances to mother earth every night, ties themselves to trees, and hates 2 stroke motors because they are "loud and smoke at start up."

Don't hold back just say what you mean. See you at the OBama rally.

Nuthin Like the Smell of 2-Stroke in the Morning

I hope to go look at an XP800 tonight. I hope it works out... because every one I find is either crap, or more than I'm willing to pay for it.

I have been drooling over the X4 since I was about 14. Finally graduated college and bought one off a marina, now that I had a job and the time to play with one :D Guy said it had "ignition issues", I didn't care, I've rebuilt everything from lawnmowers to 5spd transmissions and everything in between. Nothing was "not-fixable", and I wanted all 110 of those horses to play with. My dad gave me his old 92GTS with a dual trialer, so I had a perfect spot for the 97 SPX. Got it for $500 and fixed the bad coil ground-wire for free. Was on the lake tearing it up just a day later :) Loved it so much, I bought another 95XP 800, this one yellow. It ate a RAVE valve and needs a new top-end. Got it and the single trailer for $400. I agree w/ whoever quoted that they're looking for the 99spx. That's my fav jet ski of all time. Soon as I get this 95XP running, I'm going to paint the bottom black, and clear-coat it w/ Epoxy, rip off all the stickers and get a custom decal job resembling the SPX. Going to designate the SPX for the gf, and myself ride the XP.

With the twin X4's and the old GTS, I really have the perfect setup: the X4's to play and have fun, and the GTS to cruise around on and fish. The GTS has awesome fuel economy, sporting the tiny 587. It feels like riding a turtle after getting off the X4, but it lasts more than an hour at full throttle. It also has a huge hull that is stable and great to fish off of :) I just bought a tiny little trolling motor to mod and stick onto the back. My gf and I love bass fishing off it; we're going camping and fishing with it this weekend.

has anyone here had any issues when installing after market flame arrestors on there 787's? i purchased some jetnetics and the cone on the inside of the filter comes in contact with the butterfly for the choke, is this a problem?

If the airflow on the after market flame arrestors is different than the stock (more airflow) you will probably need to change your jets to larger.

Also interfering with the choke could be a problem on cold starts.

If it were me I would keep the stock airbox.

well see, the choke will close fully when you pull the cable, but doesn't open all they way. i'm just wondering if any damage will be done. Also, looking at last years plugs i don't think these will lean it out enough to worry, but we will see when its on the lake.

actually what i may do is just trim the aluminum piece on the flame arrestor that is contacting the choke plate little by little until the choke plate clears and operates normally.

So..... Can I join the club?

I got it for $1500. The girl I got it from hasn't used it since '06 because the trailer lost a wheel bearing, and her Ex-husband started to fix it, but never did. (I had to rebuild the hub to get it out of her garage) It was garage kept, and there are only a hand full of scuffs, in it.

The pump is perfect. It looks like it was just rebuilt before it was parked... or there is almost no hours on it. The compression is 155 on both jugs, and all the electronics check out. I didn't try to run it since it's been sitting so long. As you can see from the pic... there is no sun fade. Oh... and it has the cool stepped seat, to keep my butt from sliding off.

I'll work my normal magic on it. (Give it a bath, change the fuel and oil, service the oil system, clean the carbs, change the fuel lines... and so on)

Sorry the pic isn't good quality, but I got one phone pic before it got dark.

Welcome, congratulations, very nice ski.

Lou

Yup awesome ski w/ the hump seat...and very rare to find in that condition!!

Thanks guys. I knew If I held out long enough... I would find a good one that wasn't crazy expensive.

My new baby has her Baptism today... but I hope to get a little work done on the ski this morning. If nothing else... I want to give it a good bath, and take a couple more pics. Hopefully tomorrow, I can get the carbs off, and change the fuel lines.
