So like I know we all have this problem or some of us go out un protected thinking if u flash bake your skin you will tan faster may be true but very painful! Looking for some remidys besides the aloe vera!

Lots of remedies. Try any combination of the following.

T-shirt.
Sun-Block.
Stay inside.
Stay under cover of tree or bimini top.
Move way up north.

Just kidding...I feel your pain. Literally. I got baked last weekend and still tender to the touch, and peeling. Luckily, I got my good base tan under the peel, and didn't lose all my color when the skin came off.

I am still a prime candidate for skin cancer, but at least I look good (or will when I finish peeling :ack:).

I always burn the first time out each year, then not again the rest of the year. I have lots of Indian (Native American) in me, and tend to tan up pretty well.

Remedies after the fact? Not much you can do. The damage has been done. My wife uses an aloe/lidocaine product to numb the skin out. I just shower in warm water to open the pores up (yes, it hurts) then quick cold shower at the end, then wipe down with baby oil while still wet, towel dry off, and drink a beer. Keep hydrated as much as possible.

Thank you I ended up sleeping wrapped up in a wet towel of course i couldn't fall asleep till 6 am I LOOK TANNED for now lol

I got baked yesterday! My shoulders and back are blistering, and my chest is peeling.. At least im starting to look tan lol! And cross off the moving up north remedy! My burn all happened at the tip of the mit!

I don't sleep the day I get toasted, either. I toss and turn and spend most of the night going to the kitchen for water (you know, when you have all those dreams about drinking water, and you finally wake up and DO it!!!)

The alcohol helps get to sleep, but it also dehydrates you and you wake up as soon as the buzzzzzzz is gone. Back to the kitchen for more water.

the best solution is prevention.

Wife and I got this lotion when we stayed at the Four Season a few years ago in Hawaii. It is a lotion for sunburn by Loccitane. It is only available by Four Season. You can order it directly through them. But it is really effective...more so than aloe vera.:cheers::cheers:

Prevention is the key. I shave my head, so i get a little sunburned most summers. Cold aloe out of the fridge works best.

try a lotion that is tea tree oil. i burned my arm once on a copper line that i had just finished brazing. it was pretty bad and painful. but there was a little packet of tea tree oil in my first aid kit. i put it on and the pain was gone and it didnt blister or anything. worked great.

Man, the weather has been screwy this year. We are mid 90s with a drought, you guys up north are still snowing. Drought 2nd summer in a row...:ack: costs more to water the yard than it would to just dig it all up and resod it.

We are usually low to mid 80s with rain at least once or twice a week this time of year.

It would take a LOT of UV goggles to cover my shoulders and back...

Oh, wait, you mean for the snow-blindness...:reddevil:

Well there has not been much sun here to worry about, just lots of rain now. Planed to wax the boat and thats out now to.:ack:

This one from Oz.On the day you get sunburnt, brew up some strong tea.Cool it down and wipe it on.Helps to get rid of the pain. You can't put it on too often. This has no connection to tee tree oil. They are different plants

if you to protect your body by the sun burn.
i think you cone out then always wear the sun glasses and cool clothes like as a cotton is the best for to save sunburn.

OK I know it's an old post but since it got bumped back to the top

Vinegar really takes the burn out of a sunburn and you an apply it as often as necessary (it only stinks until it dries)
