My 06 gtx doesn't go past 5k nor 3mph. Has fresh 93 octane gas and spark plugs. It just seems slow and takes forever to develop speed. Any ideas? And the cluster doesn't work so I can't see anything

You made an identical post two minutes before this one. I will delete the other post and leave this one up...

If you're only going 3mph at 5K at least part of your problem is cavitation, take a good look at the impeller/wear ring, you could just have something stuck in the pump.

Being that it is a RFI machine, I would do a fuel pressure test.

However, before you go to far into things, do a compression test and post your results...

I have edited my post as it was not accurate to the ski in question.

The display doesn't light up. Only the rpm and rpm on the top portion of the cluster

I just noticed the check engine light was flashing. Thing is that I don't see the mode or set buttons to retrieve the codes

It is within your profile Watercrafts 1999 Seadoo GSX RFI

RFI stands for "Rotax Fuel Injection"

And it could be in limp mode, but normally there is some sort of a code. Do you have any lights or messages on your display?
Coastiejoe , first post he's listed it an 06 GTX as the ski with the problem.

Didn't one of our members just have a bad oil pressure switch that had similar issue? Also is the oil level spot on?

Post a picture of your dash/gauges for me please
Yes, we did have an oil sensor issue which did put the ski in LIMP mode. Now that the OP has stated he does actually have a ENGINE LIGHT flashing, we can start to narrow this down. Just need to determine on how to pull his codes.

Every few seconds the rpm does a full sweep and the fuel pump primes with the key off. And the IAC clicks too

If your fuel pump is activating with the lanyard NOT connected, then something is wrong for sure. I'd start looking for corrosion within the E-boxes, wire harness plugs, ect ect. How it runs means very little until you figure out where and why the fuel pump turns itself on.

Was the ski rolled over or submerged, (aka sunk)?

No idea. Just bought it yesterday with warranty. Just wanted a clue before going in to the shop tomorrow

Everything has to be plugged in. The system looks for all "options" that are registered to the ski. So if something is unplugged and it's part of teh management system you can go into limp mode. Also, check the fuses for the display. If not, a BUDS can verify the display. You also just can't buy a new info center and slap it in, it has to be done with a BUDS system at the dealer.

I jut looked thru the manual and there appears to be not mode and set buttons on the 06. The fault, if and should be visually displayed on the gauge cluster ---which your's doesn't work, or thru an audible alarm. I think you're heading to the shop. Limp mode will limit the RPM to 2500 to 5K. Unless you have access to a BUDS or Candoo system.
