Was changing pump oil and noticed the last few times I could not torque the nuts to the specified torque. I have always used a torque wrench so they have never been overtightened. I was able to torque it to 8 lbs ft. I have a few questions. 1) any ideas why this stud stripped? 2) will it be alright to use tightened at 8lbs ft? I rode it all last season at 10lbs ft. No issues. 3) it looks like I should be able to loosen the nut inside the hull and push stud through and out. Has any one had to do this and is it hard to get that stud out?

Remove the nut and washer from inside the hull and pull the stud out the back and install a new one.

Thanks Miki. I thought that is what it looked like the procedure was. I just didn't know if pulling the stud through after removing nut and washer from inside normally presents any challenge. Is it as easy as it looks or any tricks I might need to know about? Have you seen many of these stripped?

One more question. When I pull it out is it threaded or does it and the square nut just pull straight out? I do not currently have the pump off so can't tell.

Comes straight out. The square part locks into the pump shoe so it can't turn.

That is what I thought and was hoping. I'll probably go ahead and replace all of them as none of them seem to want to tighten up to torque specs. I am correct in reading from the manual that these should be tightened to 24 lbf.ft, right? I'm not sure why these are stripped unless in the early years when I use to have it serviced at the dealer is when something happened.

I pulled the pump back off this evening and the stud was super easy to get out. I'm getting ready to order new studs. Should I replaced the nuts too? I'm suspecting the nuts have wear as well.

I would replace the nuts just to be safe...why cheap out and have to buy new studs for a 1.50 nut

I had one strip years ago. I always torqued it. I went to remove it and it would not come off. I ordered two studs and kept one in my tool box.

So I ordered my parts from seadoowarehouse.com over 4 hours ago. However, I have not yet received confirmation email. Is this normal for them? Usually, the confirmation emails are pretty quick at most places.

I have purchased a number of parts in the last week and all companies emailed me almost immediately and some shipped the next day. It may be that they have a computer issue. if you dont have an email by mid-morning, i would contact them.

I tried to order some parts from the same place in the end of March. They totally messed up the entire order. There is only one person in their shop fulfilling orders and mine was never completed. I spoke to a "Brian" several times and he stated he was working from some home and would contact the in-shop employee to look into the order. He also kept saying, "ohhhh, this is a seadoo forum order, thats why....." I didn't understand that and he couldn't give me a reasonable answer. 3-4 weeks later, still nothing, spoke to him again and I canceled the entire order. Now, I have ordered plenty of items from them in the past but this pandemic has put them on their ass. Try to call them to order or just order from a different place.

I ordered from JCP, Sams Club, OSD marine, and Ride Now in the last two weeks. All sent me emails immediately and i received the order in a few days. OSD (they sell Sea Doo parts) is a small business and, for the most part, I have received good service from them. I used Parker Sea Doo for a long time until, apparently, it was company policy for parts people to get a lobotomy. after that it was a JOKE. I cancelled most of my last order and then spent about $1,000 with a competitor. Anyway. good luck with your order!

Update: I contacted them by email and phone yesterday. I was told the order# was the confirmation (even though I still have received no emails) and that they checked and saw the order in queue being processed. They did not see any issues and provided me with an email in response to my inquiry email stating the estimated delivery dates.
