Strange port under seat.

What is this small orange port under the seat of a 1997 Seadoo XP? I know the one on the left is a check valve line to allow air into the gas tank. But the one on the right with the orange center seems to go to a line that runs all the way back to the battery tray and doesn’t connect to anything. It’s just hanging around back there.

Did older batteries require ventilation? The one i currently have is completely sealed

Yes, the batteries in 1997 had to be vented, I’m almost positive that’s what that is

Bad thing on the 97+ XP’s is that battery vent would vent some acid and ruin the stickers below the seat.
