Hey everybody

I have a 96 speedster with a stereo installed but the amp is missing.

It has 4 clarion marine speakers and 1 clarion 8 inch sub not sure what modle number the speakers and sub are. And a kenwood deck.

My question is. Is this stock?

Also what kind of amp should i get for it and do i need to worry about power limits or steain on the boats electrical system. Or should i just run the 4 speckers off the deck and forget the amp and sub.

I am running a larger deep cell battery not the 2 small batteries from stock.

Any help would be very appreciated.
Cheers
Joe

I would say that's aftermarket. I think most of these boats came with the crap clarion FM radios.

As far as what to do, that's a matter of preference. Personally, I would ditch the amp and sub unless you want to throw in another battery. The charging systems on these boats are equivalent to a motorcycle and you don't want to be caught at the sandbar with a dead battery.

I put two Kenwood 8" speaks and two 4" up in the bow and the bass is sufficient for my needs, without an amp. I still worry about the battery if we're out all day.

Thanks for the input i ditched the amp and sub and wired the 4 speaks to the head umit and it is good for my liking.

Now judt need to convert the hole where the sub was into storage compartment. Any suggestions?

Something like that in your proper size would work good. I would put the sub back in the hole and run your stereo and amp off a cheap deep cycle battery so you won't draw off your starting battery, then you just charge it when it's low and/or get an isolator to tie it to the charging system on the boat when it's running, there is a blue sea mini add-a-battery kit that is perfect size for our boats and there is a blue sea add-a-battery kit with a built in charger, but to keep cost low you can do it with just a battery and a hold down and charge every few days of use
