hello i have a 1995 seadoo gts.. ski starts to surge after 15 minutes or so from being cold when you first start it I mean it runs great until then. then no power if u hold down the throttle all the way surges, 1/2 throttle little better but still does it.. leave it on the beach for a hour hop on it runs great for a couple on minutes then right back to surging. it like it getting hot but no sings of that water seems to be coming out of both pee holes good no beeping..
Any one have any IDEA'S Thanks

yes on the carbs but not the fuel selector would that make it surge after 10 15 minutes? does it get a vapor lock or something ? thanks for the reply

possible that its clogged a bit, that wants the lines empty, then starts surg'n, and/or try run'n with fuel cap off.

Tried the cap off same thing this morning took it out ran great for 10 or 15 minutes then the same thing. started loosing power then to its surging back to to the boat dock. any other ideas? about ready to back up and punt! thanks for the reply

right around 130 on both, talked with a seadoo dealer today. Let me put this out there does this sound right. he says sounds like a crack in the exhaust leaking water.. why would i lost power and surging? should it just blow out the exhaust? now if the head is leaking that would make sense. heating up open that crack water seeps in. how would be the best way to check both??
thanks for the help!

99 gtx limited surging

I just picked up a 99 GTX LIMITED that is pristine with 65 actual hours from a gal at work (last year she used it Labor Day weekend and then brought it in to be winterized). I am having the exact same problem. GTX was always professionally maintained an winterized. Perfect machine, other than the surging after about 15 minutes of use. Tried new gas, Seafoam, plugs. Any other suggestions.

Hey guys,

Had the same issue this weekend with my '89 SP. Long story short, I changed the fuel filter then proceeded to check the lines that are in the fuel tank. There are two clear, vinyl fuel lines of different lengths. The shorter line is your main feed that goes into the fuel switch for "ON" and the longer line is the "RESERVE" feed to the switch. Both my lines were eaten away and basically fell apart in my hand. Basically she was sucking air and loosing the fuel feed. Furthermore, after putting on new lines I still had the problem because I was sucking up dirt, crud and pieces of the old line. There should be two filters at the end of the lines and if they are dirty then this will happen. At high RPM the engine asks for more fuel and whatever dirt is sucked and blocks the line - when the RPM drops so does the dirt. You can try and switch between RESERVE and ON in the fuel selector to see if that solves the surging.

My next project...changing EVERY line and cleaning out the tank and fuel pump (yup '89 had it's own pump).

Cheers!

Thanks freshwater doug

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to work on that over the weekend. The more I read the more I find about the fuel lines. Has anyone determined if the manufacturers warranty the bad fuel lines? Thanks Again!

Grey gas lines replaced - problem solved

Had all the grey gas lines replaced in my 99 GTX Limited and the surging is gone. The lines were not as brittle as I had assumed they would be, but I am just happy that the problem is solved.

My XP did this, so I swapped all the lines to black. Still did it, but when the fuel selector came in, and I swapped it out, it stopped :confused::confused:

I spent all this time thinking I was picking up air from the baffle.
