Starting 2002 Utopia 205 with a 240 EFI

Periodically when I try to start my seadoo I get a studdering beep (fast and continuous) and the engine will not start or crank. I have found that if i move the flywheel slightly i will get a proper startup/powerup tone and the boat starts fine. I have tried moving the gear selector back and forth ... no success

This has been happening for a couple of years and it is getting annoying ...

I was just reviewing other posts and it could be related to the boat not being in neutral. Is there a "gear" sensor?

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure of the problem... but I'm sure one of our regulars may have an idea.
