So I wanted to put the sea doos in this weekend for the first ride of the year. Got my sons SPX 800 started and ready to go then went to my XP 800 installed the battery hit the start button for a few cranks let off and the starter still kept turning away, so i pulled of the saftey switch but it still kept turning. I quickly disconnected the ground on the battery to stop it. now when i try to reconnect ground it wants to turn over. WTF!!! I pulled out the start button that looks ok can it be the starter silonoid?

so are you saying just hook a multimeter up to each side of the lugs on solioind? and read ohms if its a short then that is what is bad?

yep solenoid was bad I changed that out, fixed that problem. But the doo still wont fire off and start. Not sure if im getting a spark. How can i check? Can you lay the plugs on top of the cylinder and touch the start button?

yep...if still no spark, Unplug the black/red wire between the mpem and coil and see if it starts. If it does, you have an issue with a switch or the rev limiter in the mpem. If it doesn't, the stator or coil are the places to look. Also, if it does start with that unplugged, be prepared to kill with the choke since the stop and lanyard buttons are bypassed

found the problem for no spark. It was the wire that runs from the - side of the battery to the black electrical box. the wire looked good but did not ohm so i ran a wire direct by passing the plug and it started right up. Ill be riding tomorrow after work :hurray:
