Has anyone used Sta-Bil Fogging oil? Is it any good? I can pick it up locally, as I don't have a Sea Doo dealer near me.

Actually any name brand is OK to use to fog the motor when winterizing, or "longtime" storage.

Fluid Film is great on the outside of the motor and other metal parts but it's about $10-$12 a can

I prefer Klotz FogOn just because it smells amazing. Hard to find though. I usually order it from Rocky Mountain ATV.

Another cheap and lazy way is to hold the oil pump wide open at idle for a few seconds till you get a big cloud of smoke.

Just my opinion, but Stabil fogging oil is crap. Best is the Evinrude/Johnson storage fogging oil.

The reason I say this is because Stabil is a thin oil, mostly kerosene, whereas the Evinrude stuff is foamy and tacky, puts a thick coating on everything. The Mercury brand used to be exactly like the Evinrude stuff, foamy and tacky, but they changed the formula a few years back and now it is just like the Stabil crap, thin and doesn't coat well.

I wonder if the Evinrude / Johnson oil is the same stuff as XPS, seeing as they are both Bombardier companies?

I've taken apart an engine after using Sta-Bil Fogging oil and it works just fine. Everything inside the engine was completely coated with oil.

I use Stabil fogging oil on my skis. Had two take on major water in hulls this summer. Got them home, fogged them. Dried out hulls and sprayed stuff down with Fluid Film. AutoZone carries both products along with Blue Marine Stabil for the fuel. No problems with anything. Pull choke fully out and crank starter in the spring and they start with a large cloud of smoke.

I think the moral of the story is any fogging oil is fine.
But Klotz smells better. LOL.

NO ONE TOLD ME!
I fogged the hell out of my engines the first year. I start one in the garage. It threw out a huge cloud of smoke in the garage! My Wife heard the engine start. Looked out and watched me come out of garage coughing. sMOKE ROLLING OUT OF THE 16 X 7 DOOR. She's yelling: You want me to call 911?

Haha.... good times. I can't imagine why our spouses don't get the Seadoo addiction Mickirig.

Another thing too. If the engine is in the hull, support it so it is not hanging upside down on the motor mounts. I don't think the mounts will survive the weight for long. They are not designed for that, from what I have read.

My Wife has the addiction as long as I do all the work to keep them running! "WE have put a lot of work and parts in them" Really? You just hold the gas nozzle to fill the farther one on the trailer!
My over time bought the parts!

Picked up a can of Sta-bil fogging oil and some Sta-bil fuel stabilizer tonite, at Wally World. Fogging oil is only $3.67 a can.

I love Wally World! The put stuff on clearance that I need, or might. My Wife ask's why? Hey it's $2!
