"Spray" trick

Years ago, before I knew anything about jet skis, there was a guy who could somehow direct the spray from the jet propulsion at people or other boats. I'm not talking about the stream that shoots up from the back of Yamaha PWC's, it's the actual jet nozzle shooting the water. He was either getting his weight on the front of the ski, or getting his weight to the side, or something like that, and he could shoot the water from the propulsion nozzle. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and/or how to do it? Maybe there was something different about the skis then that allowed him to do this, but I don't really think so. I know it was a 2-stroke, because this was before the 4-strokes were made. Anyway, it's obviously not that important, I just happened to remember it, and was wondering if anyone knows how to do it. Happy riding!

I've seen this done several times with stand up skis. All you are doing is flipping your body around and sitting on the hood, pushing the front of the ski into the water and the rear upwards so that the nozzle sticks out of the water but the intake is still below the water linee

Yeah, obviously the intake is in the water, and the nozzle is either out of the water, or at least close to the surface. This guy was doing it on a sit down ski, but I'm not sure how he was able to get the nozzle that close to the surface, unless maybe it was modified in some way. I played around with it one day on my 2-stroke, but I couldn't even get close to doing it. I don't know, it may also have something to do with the particular model is was riding, and I have no idea what that was...

Do not point at people or boats.

Gain speed, just at or before plane, lean forward and to one side, turn into the side you are leaning on, when the back of the ski is pointed close to your target area, turn hard to the opposite direction and shift your body weight hard to the side you are leaning.

The motion is similar to a slow attempt at a 180 degree turn, with a sudden decision at about 90 degrees to turn the opposite direction with a whole bunch of throttle.

The idea is you are changing the left right movement to vertical. You lean to push the ski down on one side, changing the nozzles trajectory. It works better with trim up.

I would not consider this a trick, but rather the most annoying thing you can do to someone that hates being sprayed with a firehose.

It is why I said do not point at people or boats, or anything you don't intend to potentially ruin with gallons of water.
