Hello, I have a 2003 Sportster LE. I was hoping someone could help with a starting issue that just showed up. I have ran it for 3 days so far this year without any issue. Yesterday I replaced the plugs with new (Exactly the same) and tried to start it. It turned over 2-3 times the stopped. I charged the battery and its the same. Then I removed the plugs and it turns over free - put them back it does it once more. It seems there is too much presser in the heads but I don't know what to do next?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How old is the battery? It could show fully charged but may have a dead cell and only have 8 volts under load. Have it load tested to be sure it deliveries a full 12 volts under load. Then go from there.

Hi, I'm on the way to the way to the battery store now... I don't know how old it is - its not the stock battery because its from battery warehouse. it's a Deep-cycle/cranking but it does not say the cranking amps on it?
if I need a new one what should I get?

OK - The Battery passed there test with flying colors --- Darn --- I'm guessing the starter is the next thing to try?

Any suggestions on where I can get a starter motor from?? It looks like I'll need to mail order one...

You could either replace it with a rebuilt one or tear it apart and clean it your self. First look for a car starter company in your neighborhood and ask them if they can rebuild it for you. Do you have a seadoo repair manual? You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and privet use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Premium members get priority when it comes to getting quick detailed answers.

Great - Thanks for the reply, I feel like it would be nice to join.... I just found you guys yesterday so give me some time to lurk a little...

I pulled out the starter - Man what a mess - it looks bad inside 3 out of 4 magnets at the top are stuck or off to the side. the thing just about fell apart in my hands - rust everywhere. It looks like water got in it. I think a new is needed.
Does any one have a good parts shop they would like to share?
