I just got my 1999 Speedster SK (With 717 engines) last weekend and took it out on the Lake for the first time.

At top speed the speedo showed 45mph.

It has about 30 hours total time on the engines and they sound good but I was wondering what top speed other folks are getting.

I thought 50 - 55 mph was possible on a well tuned boat.

Perhaps its an indication that my impellers need some attention, or maybe I can go to a higher pitch to get more top end speed?.

I don't Ski so low end performance and thrust is not a concern for me.

Any suggestions?

I would think 50 would be about right... but it depends on how much weight was in the boat.

Same motors here, I get about 42-44 mph on gps, but the impellers I have are for torque not top end.
