Hi, new to the forum and sea doo boat as well. I have a speedster 200 wake and I'm trying to add a secondary battery on a perko switch for my stereo system. Since my boat doesn't have an alternator. How does it charge or it actually doesn't charge? Do I have to manually charge it myself every time?

Thanks in advance,

Same boat here ... dual magneto's recharge your battery. I've check the specs .. you could add like 4 batteries and the mags could handle it. Carry on with your dual perko install ...

On a side note if you keep your boat docked maybe get shore power and a slow charger, just to keep bilge clean after a rain when your gone.

Thanks for the quick reply bmann! Where did you end up putting your secondary battery? Which battery you ended up going with? I'm debating either the blue top optima or deka. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

The only time I would spend the extra dough for the optima is if I had a shorter boat, we really can't upset these speedsters like the old ones. I'm not dissin the optima and if dough isn't an issue go ahead. I just go with two interstates .. work great. I stuffed the second under the back seat. that way I could get away with 36" LEADS to the mian battery ..

BTW beauty boat .. the bitch def. tosses a good wake with the ballast full!!

how many amps are you running? i'm probably going to run a 540x4 and then 800x1. i should be fine with a interstate deep cycle eh?

you just have a factory ballast right? it does look like a nice size wake but i still can't get that slingshot or pop off the wake. i've been riding for a year and still can't get that pop lol.. any tips on how to slingshot off the wake?

thanks bro!

Hey relax2k, didn't realize you were so new to the forum. Welcome!! My boat is bone stock with an execption to un upgraded deck and inboard speakers. and upgraded tower speakers Blows my mind they stuffed such a crappy deck and shotty clarions 6" speakers in these things. Anyways l..

If your talking about poping off the wake while you are on the rope .. try to time getting into the heavy wake and just as you approach it stuff your back foot right down causing your board to be .. (welll as close to 90 degrees as possible) as you come over the wake try to literally level out the board. This is called an ollie in skateboarding ... I"m not a pro but i'm getting decent air with this method.

Have you got the perfect pass on your rig ... if so how the "F" does this work??? If you can help me out in this department that would be super appreciated!!

Thanks, yea new to the forum and new to the boat as well lol.. Did you switch out your head unit as well? I know right... Crappy ass infinity tower speakers and Jenson head unit. I'm about to switch my tower speakers to wetsounds.

I got the boat from a buddy and it works perfect. Are you talking about dialing it in cuz I don't know how to do that. All I do is hit the on/off and it goes to "wakeboard" and then i just set the speed i want it and then just cruise. Hopefully I can help you figure it out.

When you put that back foot down is board flat? I heard you have to edge all the way through the wake.

You don't want the board flat or parallel with the water. Start by stuffing your back foot down and trying to be on a 45 degree angle with plane of water. You'll prolly bail bad a few times till you figure out your footing but it will def. get you poppin' once you get it ...

Hope this helps!

Re Perfect Pass ... I just need to figure out how to adjust the speedo on it. My digital guage is slow (yes .. slow and it this is a seadoo) by about 8 mph) My GPS is clocking the boat at 58mph and my guage is clocking 51/52 mph ... there has to be a way to calibrate it ...

oic! damn.. i should get a gps and see how fast i'm going too just to make sure it's accurate. i'll look in to calibrating it. i'll keep you posted!

thanks guys! hey bmann, i just got all my wires ran and about to install my second battery underneath the back seat. well.. i looked at it and there's nothing with a flat surface. can you please take a picture of your set up so i can mimic it? :) thanks bro!

Will do, just on business trip. Back next week and will def. post pics for you. I just riveted a battery holder in there. Be back midweek next week with pics!

Woah!!! U want these in parallel NOT series! Series will give u 24V and that will destroy all your ecu/mpems ie very bad!

i think you misunderstood me lol.. i am running it parallel. i got battery1 + going to perko switch1 and battery2 + going to switch2. then all my accessories going to the common on the switch. I didn't really look to see where i should ground the secondary battery so i figured i asked you where you grounded yours. does that make sense? please let me know if i'm hooking up the switch wrong but i think that's right from what the perko tech told me.

thanks

Yes .. yes I did. Apologies, I also didn't mean to insult your intelligence. Since I'm still waiting for my dual perko, I have both batteries connected in parallel with a single perko switch, grounds are daisy-chained as well as positives. The grounds on the dual perko would likely connect to the same spot since they are the 0V. Regarding your accessories, it really all depends on how you want to use the dual perko. Do you want a "reserve" battery or a battery just for accessories? If you want a battery for just accessories I don't think this battery will charge when you are in the "drive" mode. ie.. battery 1 is for running the boat, battery 2 is for accessories. When you are in position 1, position 2 will not charge. Is this the way you we're thinking of setting it up?

it's all good brotha! you'll never guess what happen to me today. i was coming home from the lake and all of sudden the tire pops and then the axle totally breaks off and the boat is getting dragged. i'm so sad right now!! i can't believe the whole axle broke off. i had to walk back like 20 yards to drag the axle off the road. you think karavan should warranty this and give me a new trailer? i've never seen this before and either has the towing company. i'll post some pictures tomorrow!

Oh please god tell me your boat is okay? Thats the craziest thig ive heard in awhile!! They'll likely want their engineers to see it for sure as this situation couldve been way ... Way worse! Give them a shout and see what they say post back too, id be interested to hear their view. Also glad to hear that no one was injured ... Man that couldve have caused a hell of a train wreck

Hello, Im new to this forum and it looks like a good tool to get help when needed. I just bought a 06 speedster wake. The ballast tank is not filling up. The valve is opened and the pump seems to be working. It is not a factory pump. I had a new pump installed. Do I have to do something to the pump as it hasnt pumped water yet? Thanks for the help

See the 3 screws on jabsco pump, pull them off and get new impeller. Ill post up the part no. Its about 12 bucks.

Its what I would check first if:

a: valve is open
b: pump spins

There is such a short line that priming it really isn't necessary. Is it a jabsco? If so there's 3 brass screws, pop em' off and hit the pump if the impeller spins than you have the valve in the wrong position or hoses aren't hooked up right. Start with impeller and post back, but one of the site moderators may ask you to make your own thread. Which you really should do.

My switch was actually hooked up backwards! I had to take it apart to flip the switch around.
