speedo accuracy

I'v been seeing alot of post's that mension speed, how accurate are the speedometer's on a Seadoo, My Polaris is about 10mph fast

Ive been boating along time and never seen one that was correct. mines about 3mph slow, LOL i think i should grease my speedoo wheel up so i can get a little more topend speed out of my boat bahahahahaha......

Reference!....

The way I see it is, they are more a reference for holding constant speed while pulling a tube or skier.........there not for seeing how fast the boat will go. The biggest reason is that it would have to account for currents and push by wind direction. So, if you want to know how fast your going, the only real way to find out is by GPS.........:cheers:
