Spark

I have a 1997 GSI and I'm not able to get power to the spark plugs. I put a good solenoid in and it tries to start but there just seems to not be any electricity getting to the spark plugs. I changed the cords from the box to the plugs and still nothing. Any advice out there on what could be the problem??

check the white wire at coil, with a 12v light tester. While hit'n the start button, does it light up? If not, then check wires at stator/check stator assy.

OH and BTW.... I have a new batter in there from the repair shop, i looked at the receipt and didnt say anything about the the volts or amps about the battery... when i charge my batter what amp and volts level should i be using, my charger has a ton of settings??
