Spark plug gaps and type of fuel on 98 gtx ltd

Hi all,

Does anyone know what i should gap my spark plugs to?
It's a 98 gtx ltd 951 engine.

Also,
Can you run it on super unleaded 98 octane?

I know the manual says 0.021"-0.024", but the spark plugs that the manual also says to buy come with a gap of like 0.030"...I'm kinda in the same situation and don't really know what to do with the new spark plugs...

Gap the plugs to spec.Don't leave them as they come out of the box.They are mostly wrong.
With the fuel,you can run the super unleaded 98 oct. without any problem.
Lead used to be added to fuel as an upper cylinder lubricant for 4 stroke motors.2 stroke motors have oil added to the fuel.Problem solved.Hope this helps

98 octane, is kinda overkill, 91-93 should be fine. You definitely need to gap your spark plugs before you install them, I gap them to .022".

Im with them, i gap at .022 Your ski originally called for 87 octane. Anything more is a pure waste of money.

If you're using pure gasoline 87 octane is fine, if you are using ethanol I would bump it to 91-93 octane.
